How To Exclude Certain Products From A Cart Value Rule

Updated 1 week ago

Do you want to create a cart value rule but don't want some products to count towards the threshold?

For example, you might want gift cards or deposits not to contribute towards triggering a rule. The following steps show how you can create a cart value rule excluding gift cards with EasyGift.

Steps

1
Create a collection in Shopify using the condition to exclude gift cards as: Product type is not equal to Gift Cards (see screenshot below). Note here, if you want to exclude some other product(s) your condition needs to exclude these. Remember to uncheck the Availability of this collection for the Online store should you not want this collection to appear on your storefront.

2
After saving the collection, check the product list below the conditions to ensure the product(s) you wish to exclude from triggering your cart value rule are not appearing.

3
Open EasyGift and either create a rule or open the rule you want to edit to use this collection.

4
Configure the actions and targeting of the rule.

5
For the trigger select 'Collection' and choose the 'A total monetary value of products from these collections' option. Configure the 'Value' thresholds and enter the minimum value of products from the collection to trigger the rule. If you want an upper bound for the rule to untrigger at then set that by entering the top limit in the 'Upper threshold' input.
