How To Find The ID Of A Customer
Do you want to target an EG rule towards a specific customer? Perhaps you want to reward your top buyer with a gift on their next purchase or want to fulfil a wholesale contract with free add-ons. EG rules can target individual customers who have an account registered with your store. Read on to learn how to do this.

Finding the ID of a customer

Open the Shopify admin dashboard and head to the Customers area.

Find and click on the customer you want to target from your list of customers.

Click on the address bar and find the digits after 'customers/', these digits are the customer's ID.
E.g. for https://your-store.myshopify.com/admin/customers/6012227617002 the ID of the customer is 6012227617002.

Targeting an EG rule to a customer
The last step in configuring your EG rule is to set who the rule targets. To make your rule target a specific customer, follow these steps:

In the 'Apply this rule to' section, select the ‘Existing customers who are logged in’ option.

A subset of targeting options show - select ‘Customer ID’.

Paste the ID of the customer you want to target and click 'Add'.

Remember to save your rule!
